Painting Kitchen Cabinets - from Dark to Light

We spend so much of our lives in our kitchens. How our kitchen looks and feels will affect how we feel about our home.

Start with a Colour Consultation

When I first visited this home the kitchen felt dark and small. My clients were having their kitchen and bathroom cabinets painted and needed assistance in choosing a colour.

They were finding it difficult because they needed something that would work with the 4 existing paint colours, granite countertops and wood flooring in the space. They wanted a bright and light space for cooking and gathering.

These 'BEFORE' photos show just how dark the kitchen was.

Compare the Colours

After spending time testing and comparing all our colour options, I helped my clients to see that Maritime White by Benjamin Moore was going to be the best option to give them the bright and light feeling they wanted while still having contrast with the ceiling trim. Maritime White also coordinated with the wall and ceiling colours, and granite countertops.

Here is the 'AFTER'!

The transformation in this kitchen is incredible! The space is so much brighter and inviting. The granite counters shine and the appliances are less of a contrast next to the cabinets. Now the wine rack is a beautiful feature, where previously it faded into the background.

Get it right the first time

Considering all the existing features in your home is key to getting colour right the first time. When you are investing in a big project like this, you don't want to have to pay for it to be done a second time because the colour turned out wrong! Get help before you dive in to a large project to make sure you end up with a finished product you love. A colour consultation is much more affordable than the labour and material costs to fix colour mistakes.

It's as easy as giving me a call.
